白馬は1998年オリンピックのいくつかのイベントをホストしました。夏、Tsugaike高原ワイルドフラワープラトーとHappo-ike環状湖(2,000m)は日本の最も素晴らしい山道です。

Hakuba Station is a small but charming station that perfectly reflects the calm and welcoming atmosphere of the Hakuba area. Surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery, arriving here immediately feels refreshing and peaceful. The station is clean, easy to navigate, and conveniently located for accessing ski resorts, accommodations, and local transport. Despite its size, it has everything you need, and the surroundings make it feel special rather than busy. Hakuba Station isn’t just a transit point — it’s the start of a memorable mountain experience, setting the tone for a relaxed and scenic stay in Hakuba. 🏔️✨
Got 2 checked luggages and no elevator. The stairs are not user-friendly for people carrying luggage, so we missed the train.
A relatively small station with helpful staff (speak English quite well), a small kiosk where you may buy snacks and a small seating area. Both platform 1 and 2 are undercover, which provide great cover in the bad weather. The station is very close to Happo-One snow resort. You may take a bus or taxi, with taxis costing between 1200 to 1300 yen for two people.
Has a free foot bath. And a view of the snow capped peaks as soon as you step out. Souvenir shops and restaurants. One of my favourite stations.
The warm and vintage atmosphere i get from this station. Worth to stop a bit and enjoy the surrounding. They even have the free footbath that we can enkoy while waiting for the next train. Many restaurants and gifts shop nearby too. There is also a super good cafe just 2 min walk from the station.
Day trips from Hakuba
Close enough to visit for the day and be back in Hakuba that night.
