About Obuse
Obuse attracted the elderly Katsushika Hokusai for his final residency in the 1840s. The Hokusai Museum holds the largest collection of his later works. The town is also famous for its kuri (chestnut) sweets.

Obuse station is the train station in the small town of Obuse, Nagano. It has such a beautiful scenic landscape that you will be able to appreciate if you stand on the platform and look around. There are lockers but if you have a big luggage, ask the station staff to keep it for you.
I gotta say, the station is pretty bland. But the train next to it makes it better. The train in question is a limited express train that looks a lot like Ghibli’s spirited away train. You can go in it and see how similar it is. Other than that, nice and quiet station, with a very nice area nearby
A quite small old nostalgic station. It takes 30 min to travel from Nagano stn by regular train. If you like to enjoy a small station atmosphere, this is definitely a good place. A small town outside of this station is also recommended for tourists.
