Pace, base cities, and day trips
How "relaxed, medium, intensive" actually change your route.
Pace is one of the wizard’s first questions and it genuinely reshapes the route, not just the mood of the day view.
- Relaxed: longer stays per base, roughly one day trip a week, gentler days.
- Medium: shorter minimum stays are allowed, a day trip every two to three nights.
- Intensive: moves faster city to city, with day trips whenever they clearly match your interests.
Some cities (Kanazawa, Hiroshima, Beppu, Takayama, Matsumoto, Nagasaki) almost always get at least two nights regardless of pace, they’re dense enough that a single night doesn’t do them justice.
If a generated route feels rushed or too slow, regenerate with a different pace rather than hand-editing nights, the routing rules (minimum nights per base, day-trip frequency) are tuned per pace and a manual edit can leave a base under-provisioned.
