Toba

Such a cute train station with all the Oshawott/Mijumaru decors. Also enjoyed the Toba Aquarium decors. Saw 2 cute trains here. They have a tourist information area at the 2nd floor. There's a convenience store, few food stalls & cafe too.

Sadly there is nothing to eat locally except of combini food or souvenir shop. Somewhere to eat a warm bowl of ramen would have been perfect while waiting for the twice per hour trains bound to Nagoya. I like the wood bench on the platform, it is more comfortable than plastic seats and feels in harmony with the kintetsu trains retro colours and designs.

It is one of the few stations decorated with Mijumaru! The station staff were very kind in assisting.

Toba Station Kintetsu Line. Nice and clean place. There are many souvenir shop and small restaurant.

Toba station, which if you're in Japan you should know the stations are the key to getting pretty much anywhere. The station here was really pretty with flowers and nice covered seating. My only gripe was that the taxi stand had no taxis at all, and no end in sight as to when one would appear. Thankfully the ryokan we were heading to - Todaya hotel had a shuttle bus that came down to the station and gave us a free ride. I also really wish Toba was linked up with JR rail.
