Nishi-Iya (Iya Valley)

The stop was not large in the mountain place. Toilets were a separate building adjacent to the station and were well maintained. The staff cooked delicious noodles. Souvenirs and other foods and snacks were sold in the shop. Price was average. The parking space was enough. Opposite the stop was a slope planted with cherry trees. The road beside the stop led to a famous onsen.

Good starting point for walks in the park. The usual vending machines.

Good place for rest

I visited around noon on November 15th on my way to Kazurabashi Bridge. As you enter, there are seven four-person tables to the right. You can see the kitchen directly ahead. I asked where the ticket counter is, and was told to pay at the register to the left. My goal was bokeage soba, but It wasn't available today, so I ordered rock tofu soba instead. Apparently, there's only one person who makes bokeage. He's on leave, so I couldn't eat it today. It was busy because of the autumn leaves, but I managed to get a seat. I waited about 10 minutes for my food to be ready. When I received it, It was filled with tofu, taking up half the bowl! It was huge! It was a little (well, actually, quite) firm. And the tofu had a strong flavor. The tofu hit me first, followed by the dashi broth. It was delicious. Afterwards, I stopped by the nearby Forest Adventure. I rode a ride called the Monorider and enjoyed the autumn leaves. I recommend checking out the current autumn foliage on the Miyoshi City Live Camera before heading out.
