How the planner works

From the wizard to a printable day-by-day plan, in four steps.

The planner asks a short set of questions up front (dates, pace, must-visit cities or attractions, interests, dietary needs, whether it’s your first trip) and then builds a route: which cities you base in, how many nights each, and which are day trips from a base.

The four steps

  • Wizard: answer the questions once. Nothing here needs an account.
  • Route: generate your route. Free accounts get 1 generated route with the rest shown as locked previews; Adventure+ generates 3 real candidates to compare.
  • Day view: turn the chosen route into a real day-by-day plan, attraction by attraction, meal by meal.
  • Export: save a printable PDF of the finished plan, an Adventure+ feature.

Why base cities, not a list of dots

Most Japan itineraries are just a sequence of cities. This planner anchors you in base cities for several nights and hangs day trips off them, because that’s how a trip through Japan actually flows, you’re not repacking a suitcase every night.

Prefer to skip the wizard entirely? The Itineraries section has pre-built routes you can open instantly and adjust from there, no wizard and no AI generation needed.
