淡路島
Hyogo · kansai
A large island in the Seto Inland Sea linked to Kobe by the world's longest suspension bridge, with whirlpools, flower hills and creation-myth shrines.
Who Awaji Island is for
Road-trippers, families and couples wanting coastal scenery, flowers and seafood an easy hop from Kobe and Osaka.
Awaji sits between Honshu and Shikoku, reached across the soaring Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. In Japanese myth it was the first land created, a story enshrined at Izanagi Jingu. Its draws are scenic rather than urban: the Naruto whirlpools at the southern tip, the terraced flower fields of Hanasajiki, and the Awaji Yumebutai garden complex designed by Tadao Ando.

Plan a trip to Awaji Island →Mysterious place with so many shrines and beautiful scenery. Fresh big-sized vegetables!
This is great island near kobe, one of the most beautiful and secluded place . Drive is amazing from Kobe to Awaji. Very famous for sweet onions 🧅. Highly recommend . Great food joint across the road side . On a good sunny day this is quite happening. Don’t miss the sunflower 🌻 orchid on the way to beach.
Words don’t describe this island. Japan in general is beautiful and if u r a driving enthusiast like me, then let’s take that car on the snake roads. Narrow streets and enjoy the sunset! Sounds of the waves and amazing food. There are plenty of temples and beachfronts here on this island. There is a very private restaurant called “Hato”. Absolutely amazing food. Don’t miss the southern side of the island. The bridge to Naruto and Shikoku island is also very beautiful when it comes to the view. Over all a very pleasant experience.
“A very beautiful place
If you like the country side you’ll love it, if you are looking for shopping and dining experience then look elsewhere. Awaji is a place where you can relax and appreciate nature, the local farms are excellent and a great experience without the usual overpopulated problem from more centralised locations.
